shadowing
To aid our members in better understanding the medical profession, and to help them make a more informed decision with regards to their future, Medical Direction offers the Shadowing Program for all undergraduates who are interested in applying.
The application process is based on rolling admissions. The period to submit your application includes both Fall and Winter semester. The shadowing committee as well as executive committee will examine all received applications, send out interview offers, and subsequently select students to be assigned to doctors who practice in a field as close as possible to the applicants' preferred area of clinical practice, for a day.
Because shadowing opportunities will be offered on a rolling admissions basis, students can be assigned to doctors or residents throughout the year based on the doctors' availabilities. Students will be asked to list specific areas of interest and availabilities, so that we can better place them with the various professionals without interfering with their regular studies.
Prior shadowing or volunteering experiences will not be a criterion for obtaining a spot in this program.
Please complete your application for shadowing by sending CV and Letter of Intent by email to [email protected]. In your Letter of Intent, briefly describe (1 page max) your motivation to shadow and your interest in medicine. After successful submission of your application, you will be contacted by the shadowing committee for a brief interview.
Please be advised that certain shadowing specialties might require immunization forms.
Any and all questions or concerns may be addressed to [email protected].
